Developed by veteran educators and industry professionals, the Media Composer | First curriculum includes student guides, separate lessons plans, hands-on exercises with engaging media resources, and more. The curriculum provides educators the tools needed to introduce students to the world of filmmaking with the eyes of an editor.
The curriculum guide highlights California’s Career Technical Education Model Curriculum Standards for Art, Media, and Entertainment (AME) and learning objectives based off of National Core Arts Standards (NCAS) for Media Arts for each of the 18 lessons included in the book.
All textbook content is automatically made available on a digital streaming interface—though a standalone version of the book is also available for purchase in print and ePub formats—to allow for integration with a learning assessment platform.
On the platform, students can:
• Review course content by lesson or by topic
• Take practice quizzes
• Review results and receive feedback and study suggestions that link directly back to relevant parts of the digital textbook
• Take course exams and quizzes assigned by their instructor
Instructors can:
• Create class quizzes and exams based on course content, tailored to a specific level of difficulty
• Track student results using built-in grade sheets
• Give students access to the Media Composer | First certification exam when they are suitably prepared
